Mike Swanson: director of photography...
Michael Swanson (aka ‘Swanny’) brings more than a decade of experience to
Media Process Group. Prior to joining MPG, he worked as D.P. at TeamWorks
Media and as a photographer at Orbis Broadcast Group.
Most recently, Swanny was D.P. of MPG’s new documentary, “The Joffrey
Ballet: Mavericks of American Dance.” He was also one of the D.P.’s of
“Oprah’s Australian Adventure” which aired on the Oprah show earlier this
year.
In 2009 Mike shot a long-form project for micro-finance organization
Opportunity International in Ghana and a corporate video for beverage maker
Tampico in Brazil and Peru. Mike has also served as D.P. on the
documentaries“The Team That Changed the World”, and “Disco Demolition: 25th
Anniversary,” commercials for the Big 10 Conference, Conference USA and
Wilson Sporting goods, numerous segments for the Oprah Winfrey Show, CBS’ 60
Minutes, ESPN’s SportsCentury, as well as corporate projects for University
of Chicago, Metra, the American Heart Association (or American Society of
Plastic Surgeons) and Crown Imports. His work has taken him all over the
world including: Ghana, Australia, Turkey, France, Kenya, Mexico, England
and Puerto Rico.
When he is not shooting, you can find him at cheering on his beloved
Michigan State Spartans (Class of 1996) or at Wrigley Field. A die hard
Cubs fan, he is always convinced that “next year is our year.”
